FOYLE OPERA RARA COLLECTION

Currently carrying out a research on the Scuola Napoletana and Saverio Mercadante’s operatic repertoire and stylistic evolution at the Foyle Opera Rara Collection. Studying from his autographs, mauscripts and printed copies by Ricordi and F. Lucca, Mercadante’s stylistic evolution. Cataloguing and creating digital content for the collection, and developing a research project on one of his “middle-period“ operas composed in Lisboa and revised in Genova.
